Our adoption process
We are dedicated to finding the most loving and suitable homes for our chihuahuas. Our process is thorough but designed to make sure you and your new companion are a perfect fit. Once you feel ready, we can schedule a call or meeting to discuss if a chihuahua is the right breed for you.
1. Application submission
Complete our detailed adoption application to tell us about yourself and your home environment.
2. Reference and vet check
We'll connect with your provided references and veterinarian to understand your pet care history.
3. Home visit and meet & greet
We'll arrange a home visit and a chance for you to meet your potential chihuahua to see if its a perfect match.
4. Finalization
Once all steps are complete and approved, the adoption fee is finalized, and you take your chihuahua home!
Who is the perfect adopter?
Chihuahuas require a special kind of person. They bond quickly to one person but can also be a lovely companion for the whole family, including children. We are looking for someone dedicated to protecting them and loving them, someone who wants not just a dog but a best friend.
What if it doesn't work out?
We understand that sometimes things don't go as planned. If for any reason an adoption doesn't work out, we will always take our chihuahuas back into our care. However, we strive through our comprehensive adoption process to match each chihuahua with a person who will never let them down, ensuring a lasting and loving relationship.
Where do our chihuahuas come from?
Our chihuahuas are rescued from various situations across Ontario. Some come from neglectful and abusive environments, some are owner or breeder surrenders, and others are pulled from shelters. Each chihuahua has a unique story, but all are looking for a second chance at a happy life.
